At Louisville Tourism from July 1, Cleo Battle is Chief Operating Officer, promoted from Executive Vice President, and Doug Bennett is promoted to Executive Vice President from Senior Vice President-Convention Development.
Deborah Ward has been promoted to Executive Director of Visit Omaha. Previously VP of Marketing and Communications, she has been leading the Omaha Convention & Visitors Bureau as interim director since July 2020.
Cathy Ritter, former director of the Colorado Tourism Office, has launched Better Destinations LLC, a consultancy focused on “bringing expert resources to destination management, especially relating to sustainable and regenerative tourism.”

She joins from Destinations International where she was Chief Operating Officer since 2018 and had previously held the position of Chief Marketing Officer. Flavia Oliveira has joined Visit Santa Cruz County as Director of Sales Marketing. Her background includes a role as Sales Manager at Visit Oakland.
Athena Qualls has joined Visit Spokane as Senior Director of Sales based in Greater Chicago looking after the Midwest market.
In Hammond, Indiana, reports are that Speros Batistatos, president & CEO at South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority for the past 16 years, will not have his contract renewed the the end of 2021.
Visit Huntington Beach has promoted two managers from within: Brittany Tesmer, who joined in 2017, has been promoted to Digital Marketing Manager and Sophia Valdivia, who joined in 2015, has been promoted to Senior Manager of Business Development.
