Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County has announced the appointment of Kristen Pironis as Executive Director. She joins following 16 years with the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation, most recently as EVP of Marketing and Communications.
Experience Columbia SC has named Jeff Homad as vice president. He comes to Columbia from Memphis Tourism and to management of daily operations of the DMO and its Visitors Center.
Beth Potter leaves as president & CEO at Tourism Industry Association of Ontario to join Tourism Industry Association of Canada as its new president and CEO. Carol Greenwood, VP Membership & Business Development, will become interim president & CEO of Tourism Industry Association of Ontario.
Robert Mercure moves from CEO at Palais des Congrès (convention center) in Montréal to become Executive Director of the Office de Tourisme de Québec.
Seth Chalmers has joined Madden Media as Managing Media Director. He joins from Visit West Hollywood where he served as Director of Digital since 2017.
Astrid Nahir Emmanuelli Ruiz has been promoted to Social Media Manager at Discover Puerto Rico in San Juan.
Wendy Chambers is the new executive director at Put-in-Bay, a village on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. She brings 20 years of experience as the former director of the Bowling Green (Ohio) Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Rene Lance, a Tennessee tourism veteran is joining the Maury County Visitors Bureau as the organization’s assistant director. She was most recently executive director of South Central Tennessee Tourism Association.
Paige Hunt has been named Director of Tourism for the Greater Starkville Development Partnership and Starkville Visitors & Convention Council. The community is known as “Mississippi’s College Town.”
Wausau/Central Wisconsin Convention & Visitors Bureau and Wausau/Central Wisconsin Sports Authority, Inc. executive director Richard “Dick” Barrett has announced his retirement after serving the community for 13 years.
In Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, the former Walworth County Visitors Bureau Executive Director Kathleen Seeberg has left the position and a job opening for a new leader has been posted.
In New Hampshire, Valerie Rochon, who has served on the NH Travel Council since 2012, has announced her retirement as president of the Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth. A search committee hopes to name a replacement in May.
In Georgia, Collin Cash has been named as the new tourism director of Paulding Chamber of Commerce.
Denise Liggett announced her retirement as executive director of the Indiana County Tourist Bureau in Indiana, Penn., effective April 30. Office manager Laura Herrington will serve as interim executive director.
On Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Kent County Tourism, former director Bernadette Bowman has retired following 19 years’ service.
Richard Bryant, formerly Sales Director at Adara, is joining the sales team at Zartico on April 1.
Mark Fine, formerly head of marketing for the Harlem Globetrotters, New York Mets and the Brooklyn Nets is appointed VP/Head of Marketing at American Dream and Triple Five Worldwide, owners of Mall of America. The massive space in East Rutherford, NJ, third-largest of its kind in the USA, is set to open in October 2021.
