Flávia Light has been named as the new Vice President of Tourism at Visit Denver. She spent nine years with Walt Disney World, Disney Destinations as marketing and sales director and has also been in executive roles at Southwest Airlines Vacations, Starwood Vacation Ownership, and Universal Orlando Resort.
Susan Harris will be coming aboard at Chattanooga Tourism Co. as COO in mid-April. She departs a prior role as President & CEO at See Rock City, Inc., also in Chattanooga.
After 10 years’ service, Karyn Gruenberg departs Brand USA as SVP Marketing & Strategic Alliances. She has launched a consultancy focused on marketing strategy and is currently working with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
James Timberlake is the new Director of State Parks at Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department. He joins from a position as Executive Director of the Santa Fe Family Life Center, a sports & fitness complex in Oklahoma City, and succeeds Kris Marek who retired last year.
Sarah Donovan has joined Metro in Portland, Oregon, as the Head of Communications and Marketing – Visitor Venues for strategically marketing three major visitor venues in the region: Oregon Convention Center, Portland Expo Center and Portland’5 Centers for the Arts. She recently departed as Assistant Director of Public Relations at Visit Fort Worth, which she joined in 2013.
Dan Cook starts a new position as Director Marketing Communications at Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He moves from Prince William County in Virginia where he was most recently Acting Director of Tourism at that organization, which he joined in 2016.
Matthew L. Ozuna has joined State of Washington Tourism as Destination Development Manager. His background includes roles with Destinations International and Simpleview.
John R. Melleky has been appointed to the position of Arts and Culture Manager at Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention & Visitors Bureau for the Tourism Division, Collier County, Florida. He is an executive specializing in nonprofits, festivals, and events.
Eva Damato has been promoted to Senior Leisure Sales Manager at The Palm Beaches, which she joined from a sales role at The Breakers in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 2018.
Anastasia Taylor has left her role as Outreach & Public Relations Specialist at Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau in Florida to join Expedia Group as an Associate Market Manager.
Ashley Williams has started a new position as National Sales Manager at Visit San Antonio. She joins from Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
Linsey Barrett is promoted to Manager, Group Sales at The Palm Beaches in Florida from her previous role as Account Executive.
Ashleigh Osborne is now Director of Sales at Connect Travel, where she will work with eTourism Summit on marketer recruitment. She joins from ConventionSouth magazine where she served as Director of Sales for the past nine years. Ashely shares her point of view:

In Memoriam: David Attaway, CEO of Placer Valley Tourism and @the Grounds, an event campus in Roseville, Calif. that hosts the Placer County Fair and has a 160,000-square-foot event center that opened in 2020. Attaway, 66, passed away last week while on vacation in New Orleans. He joined the DMO in 2010.

Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking proposals from qualified businesses for the content, design, and ad sales of the 2022-2023 edition of the official Athens Georgia Visitors Guide. Bidding agencies should pay particular attention to the Athens brand and website and provide a forward-thinking approach in keeping with the creative energy of the destination. Details here. Discover Long Island (DLI) seeks creative and media buying agency of record. The selected agency will also assist on a project basis in the development and execution of innovative, effective, integrated marketing programs that drive overnight visitation while reinforcing DLI as a premier tourism destination.
All proposals will be carefully reviewed and evaluated on the criteria noted. Initial scope of work is from the award date through June 1, 2024 with the option of three one-year extensions to be explored at that time.
