A roundup of data covering millions of internet flight searches from dozens of countries, as well as actual bookings, indicate a marked decline over dates associated with President Trump’s travel ban.
In a New York Times report this week, economists are quoted saying that “America first” rhetoric affects the attitude of travelers, and that the on/off executive order creates a perception that the U.S. is a place of instability. “It doesn’t take a lot of uncertainty or adverse sentiment to affect travel decisions,” said Adam Sacks, president of research firm, Tourism Economics.
