Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA) — which is NOT the same organization as Greater Miami and the Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) — has been named North America’s Leading Tourist Board in the 2016 edition of the World Travel Awards.
Some 600,000 industry voters placed Miami-Dade ahead of Arizona Office of Tourism, Destination DC, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation, NYC & Company, Visit California, Visit Orlando and VisitFlorida. Then in December, it’s on to the world competition for leading tourist board against fellow nominees Auckland, Rio, London, Cape Town, Cancun and Shanghai.
