Think Hawaii, Charleston, Key West, Napa Valley. Right now, charm is pricier than penthouse suites in big city skyscrapers, according to the latest research from Cheaphotel.org, an affiliate of Booking.com.
Charleston, South Carolina is second only to Kauai’s Poipu Beach in Koloa, Hawaii. “Compared to spring 2021, rates have increased significantly across the board, with these hikes seen particularly starkly in Hawaii, where travelers can expect to pay up to 75% more this spring. However, the biggest increase is reserved for Charleston, where rates are more than double what they were a year ago,” according to a press release from Cheaphotels.org.
Cheaphotels.org, an affiliate of Booking.com, released a spring 2022 study that looked at every destination in the USA with at least 20 well-located hotels and inns rated 3-stars or better and with generally positive guest reviews. The survey was conducted in mid-April 2022, based on rates shown on the hotel comparison website Booking.com.
