As of December 2017, the U.S. has 5,011 hotels under construction adding 608,837 guest rooms to the nation’s inventory—more than in China.
Note: The U.S. accounts for 40% of the projects in the Global Pipeline while China accounts for 20%, resulting in 60% of the Global Pipeline being concentrated in just two countries.
Other cities leading in hotel construction are Las Vegas, Seattle, Denver, Boston, and metropolitan Washington DC.
