We are introducing Drunken UX testing at the eTourism Summit ’16 opening reception on Oct. 20 because it is generally considered to be the ultimate test of usability for a mobile website.
The idea was inspired by www.theuserisdrunk.com, a popular UX expert who tests websites while he is fully wasted and then sends a complete report to the brand he’s testing.
Here’s how our eTourism Summit version works:
- We’ll recruit three attendees who wish to have their mobile sites tested be a drunken user.
- We’ll recruit three additional attendees who volunteer to test each site once their blood alcohol level reaches .08.
- An onsite breathalyzer test is performed by a uniformed policeman. Yes, essentially, it’s an eTS version of a DUI stop.
Each tester will have three minutes in which to perform five navigational tasks…and those who succeed will receive $50. Bottoms up and a toast to you as we celebrate the 17th Annual eTourism Summit. Several places are available at www.eTourismSummit.com/
