ORLANDO — Walt Disney World theme parks in Orlando, Florida plan to reopen on July 11. Observers say that if the “happiest place on earth” can move forward, it will give a level of comfort to travelers and create a roadmap for other attractions.

Last week, Jim MacPhee, senior vice president of operations for the Walt Disney World Resort, discussed plans to begin a phased reopening of Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Read more from Disney here.

LAS VEGAS — Nevada casinos are permitted to reopen on June 4. Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak announced the June 4 reopening date on May 26, so it’s a quick ramping up of operations for casinos that have been closed since March 17.

• Both the Wynn and Encore resorts complexes are planning to open 16 restaurants, six bars and lounges, three shopping esplanades, five pools and two salons in addition to the casinos and an 18-hole golf course.
• Wynn, Encore, MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Boyd Gaming are partnering with Las Vegas University Medical Center, the Culinary Health Fund and the Las Vegas Convention Center to provide Covid-19 testing for their gaming employees.
• Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Las Vegas plan to offer dining and access to outdoor pools as well as slot machines and table games. However, live entertainment, bars, spas, buffets and valet parking, will not resume immediately. 
• Harrah’s hotel and the Linq hotel’s gaming floor will reopen sometime after June 4, subject to consumer demand.
• The Bellagio and its fountains, New York-New York and MGM Grand will reopen June 4. Also planning to open: Petrossian Bar and Prime, Lago and Mayfair Supper Club restaurants, the Bellagio pool, salon and fitness center.
• At New York-New York, several bars and restaurants and the fitness center will reopen, along with the Big Apple Roller Coaster, Big Apple Arcade and Hershey’s Chocolate World attractions.
• MGM Grand plans to reopen Craftsteak and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, as well as its salon, fitness center and a portion of its pool.
• The Signature at MGM Grand all-suite resort will also be open.
• Las Vegas Sands will reopen the Venetian on June 4, with the Palazzo to follow at a later date. The Venetian’s reopening plans will include its casino, pool deck, fitness center and multiple retail outlets, a dozen restaurants and several bars.
