Coastal Mississippi Tourism Board CEO Milton Segarra has resigned effective Oct. 15, 2021. He joined the DMO representing three counties — largest in that state — in 2018 from a previous role as president & CEO of Meet Puerto Rico. Over the past few months, tourism board members had been debating among themselves whether new leadership was needed, according to news reports.
Visit Lauderdale welcomes Paul Mason as Senior Manager, Global Trade Development with a primary focus on the international inbound market. He joins the destination marketing organization from Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.
Jonny Westom has joined Sonoma County Tourism as Vice President, Business Development. His previous California-based DMO experience includes serving as president at Visit Dana Point, as executive director of Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau, and in several executive roles over a decade at Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Melissa DeFreest is promoted to VP – Tourism & Communication at Somerset County Tourism in New Jersey. She joined Somerset County Business Partnership in Bridgewater, NJ in 2018.
Anthony Mancuso, CMP, is now Convention Sales Manager at the newly formed Silicon Valley DMO, Discover Santa Clara. His California-based DMO background includes San Diego Tourism Authority, San Francisco Travel Association, and Visit Oakland, plus most recently, Visit El Paso.
Emily Murray has joined InterContinental Hotels & Resorts as Manager, U.S. Brand Public Relations. She joins from Explore Georgia following nearly eight years in PR & Communications for the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
Ashley Smith has announced her move to Tempest where she is the new Website Project Manager, working remotely. For the past seven years, she had been Creative Manager at Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau in Michigan.
Steve DeLuca, formerly has joined FINN Partners as Senior Partner, Business Development & Marketing. He had been senior VP & publisher of Departures, the upscale magazine for American Express’ platinum card and centurion members. Earlier, he held posts at Travel & Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler, working with destination marketing organizations, including Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Bureau.
