“You Might Like Oregon” Campaign and the Appeal of Underselling

How’s this for a tourism slogan: “We like it here, you might too.” And, “It’s just Oregon, no big deal.” Travel Oregon is going for humility in a series of 15-second ads that are short and sweet…and tongue-in-cheek.

A handful of clever spots are targeted at Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Boise, Idaho, and Vancouver, B.C.  — markets where folks are likely to know that Oregon’s Pacific Northwest scenery really is magnificent.
