Matt Goldberg has been appointed CEO of Tripadvisor with an anticipated start date of July 1, based at the company’s Needham, Massachusetts headquarters. A former CEO of Lonely Planet (2009-2013), he has had media, advertising, and venture capital roles. Goldberg succeeds longtime CEO, Stephen Kaufer, who co-founded the company in 2000 and announced six months ago that he would depart when an appointment was made.

William D. Talbert III has been named Interim President & CEO of Miami-Dade Beacon Council, an economic development organization, following the unexpected passing of President and CEO Michael A. Finney last month. Talbert was the longtime President & CEO of Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, now led by David Whitaker, and he remains in a consulting role until October.

“Dennis” was a $34.99 find at an Austin, Texas Goodwill store. Turns out, the Roman bust is 2,000 years old. Historians have decided the statue more likely represents Sextus Pompey (c. 67 – 35 BC). Purchased by Young in 2018, it once belonged to King Ludwig I of Bavaria and was last seen in Aschaffenburg, Germany where museum experts believe a U.S. soldier may have taken it. He’s now on display and will stay with the San Antonio Museum of Art for a year. Then, the 52-pound marble sculpture will return to the Pompeiianum in Germany.
