Kim Sidoriak moves into a new role as President & CEO of Visit Carlsbad. For the past 14 years, she has been with Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer.
Michael Zumbaugh, CDME is joining Visit Estes Park as Chief Financial Officer. His immediate past role had been COO at Chattanooga Tourism Co., prior to which his DMO financial experience includes Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau and Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau. He is currently a board member of the Destinations International’s Certified Destination Management executive program.
Angela Nelson joins Travel Portland (OR) as Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She comes from a role as VP-Multicultural Business Development at Experience Grand Rapids where she has served since 2017.
In Indiana, Jim Wood plans to depart the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau at the end of his initial two-year contract, prompting a search for their third leader in as many years. The role had previously been filled by Bob Warren, who retired in 2018. Wood’s earlier DMO roles had been in Louisville and Atlantic City, New Jersey.
At year-end, Nanci Liles will retire as head of the Abilene Convention & Visitors Bureau in central Texas where she has served as Executive Director for 36 years.
Jonathan Tesser has announced his departure from NYC & Company, where for the past 3+ years he’s served as VP-Research & Insights. He moves to a new role as Director of Cultural Sciences at Cashmere Agency, a multicultural creative marketing agency.
Doug MacKenzie, Media Relations Director at Visit Phoenix since 2001, is now president of Four Peaks Strategies and Communications in Phoenix and Washington D.C.
Lori Lincoln has joined San Francisco Travel Association as Vice President of Global PR & Media Relations. Her background includes corporate communications at Shangri-La Group and at Joie de Vivre hotels. Elisabeth Wieselthaler-Toelly recently left the position to spend more time in Vienna.
Sarah Joyner is the new Digital Marketing Manager at Chattanooga Tourism Co. A graduate of the M.A. writing program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, she’s been a staff writer in that marketing & communications department for the past 4+ years.
Joe Ramler and Fallon Oldenburg have joined Madden Media, strengthening the DMO experience at the company. Prior to joining the company as Senior Economist, Joe spent the past 10 years in that role with the Montana Department of Commerce.
Fallon, Account Executive, joins from Galena County Tourism where she served as Marketing & Communications Director for the past year.
Jen Carlisle, formerly Visit Florida, also joined Madden Media, as reported in The Travel Vertical (7/6/2021).
The Brandon Agency has promoted Courtney Olbrich to Director of Digital Strategy. Olbrich, who has been with TBA for more than six years, will take on the new role in addition to her position as Associate Media Director.
