Add Nebraska to the list of states that have dismissed their tourism director in the spring of ’16. Two earlier articles in this month’s Something Brief reported on Nebraska Tourism Commission being labeled a “rogue agency” and the subsequent suspension of Kathy McKillip, accused of inappropriate spending of taxpayer money.
The state’s executive director for tourism has now been fired following last Thursday’s vote of 8-0 to terminate her contract. Together with the Rhode Island tourism promotion fiasco, that makes 2 out of a possible 50. Read more from the Associated Press in Omaha here.
